Devlog 0: First Release after 8 Years, Snek is here!
A long journey of eight years brings me to this exciting moment – the release of Snek, my "first" published game! It all began during my college years when I first ventured into game development. Back then, I created a simple snake game as a personal project and shared it with a small group of friends through a basic web page. However, this release marks a significant milestone as it represents the first time I am officially publishing a game the right way, on a dedicated game compiling website.
The idea of revisiting my old code and uploading my first ever games has been on my mind for years. Finally, I've set my mind to bringing this old snake game remake a new life and present it to a wider audience.
Throughout these past eight years, I've honed my skills as a game dev, learning from many projects and constantly improving my understanding of game design principles. It's been a thrilling and sometimes challenging journey, but that's life is all about. I've poured countless hours into perfecting its gameplay mechanics, designing engaging levels, and ensuring a smooth user experience for my future games.
With the rise of this newly found confidence, I decided it was time to share all my previous finished, but unpublished games with the world in a more professional and accessible manner. By publishing it on a dedicated platform, I can now reach a wider audience and provide them with an optimized gaming experience from the web. It's incredible how the web technology has advanced over the years, opening up new avenues for independent developers like myself to showcase their creations.
Thank you for joining me in this remarkable milestone. I hope Snek brings you as much joy and excitement as it has brought me.
